Ryan Dungey is now part-owner of the GEICO Honda team, it has been announced.

The 29-year-old American who has amassed multiple Supercross and Motocross titles will use his experience, knowledge and champion mindset to help develop Honda’s elite 250 and youth riders.

ā€œAfter I stopped racing, there were a couple years of waiting for the right thing that made the most sense for me and my family,ā€ said Dungey. ā€œThis came along, and itā€™s a huge opportunity that checks all the right boxes.

ā€œFactory Connection Racing is a premier team that has had a lot of success and has a great line-up of talented riders. Iā€™ll be able to apply my experience and knowledge to the next generation and future generations of riders and, because Iā€™m a part-owner, itā€™s something long-term that I can help to build and grow for the future. Between all that and being involved with the Honda organisation, there are a lot of positives, and Iā€™m excited to get to work.ā€

Factory Connection Racing owner Richard ā€œZiggyā€ Zielfelder is thrilled to bring Dungey aboard. ā€œWeā€™re so pleased to have a champion of Ryanā€™s stature join our organisation,ā€ he said.

ā€œHis racing record speaks for itself, but he has also always been known as a professional off the track as well. Weā€™re very confident that his involvement with the team will help us to continue growing and improving, and we look forward to a successful future together.ā€
