The Grand Prix of Trentino weekend started so well for Steven Frossard with the top spot in qualification by some nine seconds from Tony Cairoli. But it turned bad in the opening moto for the Frenchman after a crash in the waves section.

The off itself wasn’t so bad but when Frossard was getting to his feet he was hit by Honda pilot, Evgeny Bobryshev and that impact broke his helmet which led to facial injuries and a concussion for the Monster Energy Kawasaki pilot. Frossard was released from hospital after examination but there’s no word yet on how bad his injuries are or when he will be back to racing.
