An infection has forced Stefan Everts back into the hospital as the legendary motocrosser continues his fight with Malaria.

Suffering from pain in his right foot in the last few days Everts was admitted to the University Hospital of Leuven with a bone infection. Everts will be treated with antibiotics intravenously.

“It’s a blow for me, said Everts. But as always I keep fighting and I will also overcome this obstacle.”

Reports say the 10-time world champion will stay in the hospital for two to six weeks.

Everts contracted Malaria while attending a charity event in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in November 2018.

All at Dirt Bike Rider send their best wishes to Stefan and his family.
