Kawasaki are expected to issue some news on the status of Monster Energy KRT rider Ryan Villopoto this week but with the rider providing little in the way of updates on his social media channels and certainly no evidence that he is back in the saddle of his KX450F then it looks as though #2 will not be competing at the British Grand Prix this weekend.

Villopoto has been convalescing from a multiple fracture to his coccyx since a crash at round four and the Grand Prix of Trentino; his sole MXGP appearance in Europe so far.

The American has already missed two rounds of the series and is all but out of contention for the 2015 title with a 135 point differential to leader Max Nagl in the standings.

The former AMA Champion’s decision to fly back to the United States after the Grand Prix of Europe at the end of April only heightened rumours that his MXGP adventure is losing its lustre and he was even linked with a Kawasaki spot of the AMA Pro Motocross Nationals in the wake of Davi Millsaps sacking from the U.S. factory set-up.

The uncertainty over RV’s fitness and outlook on MXGP also comes at a time when Kawasaki Motor Europe had opened tentative talks about a second Grand Prix term in 2016.
