Buildbase Honda’s French star Nico Aubin took a double win in the French Championship this weekend at Villars Sous Ecot. This also gave Honda a 1-2-3 in both the MX1 and the Super Final.

The MX1 race saw Nico Aubin storm out of the gate on the fantastic French circuit – briefly occupying second spot but quickly jumping into the lead. Nico then pulled away to a comfortable 45 second lead to take the checkers followed by Jason Clermont (Honda) with Cedric Soubeyras (Honda) in third.

The Super Final is a mixture of the top 20 MX2 racers with the top 20 from MX1. Aubin however made this Super Final hard for himself with a poor start which left him at the back of the pack with a battle on his hands.

By the time the two lap board had come out, the on-form Buildbase Honda racer was leading and took his second win of the day from series leader Soubeyras and Clermont once again.

Due to clashes with Nico’s Maxxis British Championship commitments, he now lies third in the French MX1 class standings and fifth in the open Super Final standings.

The next French Championship round is at the spectacular St.Jean D`angely circuit on May 12, however, Nico will be fighting for glory in the UK at the next Maxxis British Championship round at Milton Park in Northants.
