Two errors in the same spot on the Matterley Basin track ultimately cost Tom Vialle the British GP win.
By lap nine of the opening MX2 moto, Vialle had amassed an impressive 10-second lead but he then cased the triple and stalled his Factory KTM. He then made another mistake in the same spot just a few minutes later.
The 19-year-old Frenchman would go on to win the second moto but would miss out on the overall to Jago Geerts.
After the racing was done Vialle said: ā€œI was feeling really comfortable with the bike in the first race but I made a mistake on a big jump and came too short. It was difficult to restart and I then finished sixth. The second race was better! It was tricky to pass Rene [Hofer, team-mate] and also it started to rain a bit and I had a problem with the goggles. So I waited and then pushed hard. I won my first race and finished second in the first GP of the year so Iā€™m really happy with that.ā€
