The date for the Lacapelle International 2019 has been revealed by Lacapelle Motoclub and they’re once again hopeful of a star-studded gate for one of the biggest pre-season events of the year – the Lacapelle Marival Masters Motocross International.

The French club says they waited until the release of the latest version of the MXGP calendar before fixing the date of their Lacapelle Marival International. “The idea is always to be as close as possible of the first Grand Prix as we expect top teams and riders to be behind our gate come February,” explained club board member, Vincent Ayroles.

“Next year the first GP is scheduled for March 10 so we postponed our date to February 24. It’s impossible to go further as the teams and riders need some time after their last pre-season race to prepare the first GP.”

There has been a number of high-profile motocross stars that have tasted victory at Lacapelle International. Shaun Simpson, Clement Desalle, Hunter Lawrence and Jeffrey Herlings are winners over the past six years. And in 2019 the Lacapelle Motoclub expect another long list of big-name riders. “We always had a good feedback from teams and riders who came here to race and today most of the managers have a good opinion about our event so we expect to welcome even more top riders than in the past,” said Ayroles.

With the announcement of the 2019 Lacapelle International date of February 24, Hawkstone International one week earlier following a swiftly amended date (February 17) and the MXGP championship kicking off on March 10, motocross fans now have a better picture for the start of the 2019 outdoor motocross season.
