Kristian Whatley’s season has come to end Rob Hooper Racing Yamaha has announced today.
The first Pro moto at Cusses Gorse for the final round of the MX Nationals last Sunday is Whatley’s last competitive race action 2018.
By his own high standards, to say it’s been a season to forget for the former British champion is an understatement. Whatley has battled both injury and bad luck throughout the year.
Injury dogged the start of his campaign and he never really got going.

He had a torrid time in Spain with a disastrous motocross trip on an epic scale with two breakdowns an insect sting that took its toll.
He struggled at Canada Heights and was stood down from racing by the team as he suffered from illness and if that wasn’t enough he recently had his practice bike stolen.
Whatley made a solid start in the opening moto at Cusses but then dropped to the back of the field and pulled out from his second moto and that’s him done for 2018. Whatley now wants time to think about his future. We hope he can have a great off-season and come back strong for 2019.
