HIMX revealed the Hawkstone date change on their social media accounts without much of an explanation, just stating it was down to the change in the FIM Motocross World Championship schedule.

“The new Be Wiser Insurance – Bridgestone Hawkstone International date is the 17th February 2019 – sorry for any inconvenience caused,” the HIMX social post read.

The news isn’t unexpected following Youthstreams’s announcement that the MXGP season would start later than first announced.

Update: HIMX released the following statement: “We feel a new later date was important to allow us more opportunity to secure bigger [name] riders to come and compete. We are pleased with the date of the 17th February and look forward to seeing everyone there. Once again thank you Be Wiser and Bridgestone for supporting the event again.”

Entries will open soon for the MX1 and MX2 classes and after the success this year the support class will once again be MXY2. The organisers hope that GP stars will attend the event with names expected to be announced over the coming months.
