Round six of the Acerbis Amateur Nationals takes place at the historic Farleigh Castle circuit this weekend and with just one round to go at Culham next month tensions are rising.

In the Paradise MX Holidays MX1 class, former British championship rider Lewis Trickett has taken maximum points at the last two rounds to open up a 26-point lead over defending champion Ed Briscoe. It sounds a lot but with a potential 200 points up for grabs over the weekend just one bad result could shake everything up.

With defending Craigs Motorcycles MX2 champion Scott Hamilton missing the last round at Landrake with a wrist injury, Seb Berthiaume stepped up to the plate and now holds a 60-point advantage from Ashley Beniston.

It’s too close to call in the California MX Dreams 250cc Two-stroke class where Adam Harris moved into a 27-point lead last time out ahead of Brad Wheeler but in the Moto Connection-sponsored 125cc Two-stroke class defending champion Dylan Spencer is now 100 clear of James Hanscomb.

Despite dropping two races in favour of competing at the SSDT, enduro star Jane Daniels leads Nadiya Jones by 18 points in the Matthew Rudd Photography Ladies class while Ben Stanley has a 52-lead over Aiden Carney in the Manchester Xtreme Junior Open class.

The series is incredibly popular among veteran riders and it’s Brian Wheeler who’s currently setting the pace in the LS2 Helmets-sponsored Over 40s. Unbeaten by a registered rider this year, the former 500 GP rider is 108 points clear of ex-British 125cc championship contender Danny Tollet.

In the Roberts Plant Over 50s class Chris Brown has been flying all season and he currently holds an 89-point lead from Morton Hannah.
