Eli Tomac has given the answer fans have wanted to hear since 2015 with the news coming from America overnight that he will say yes if asked to represent Team USA this year at the Motocross of Nations.
US moto media mogul Steve Matthes took to Twitter to announce that Tomac had confirmed the big news. Matthes’ Tweet read: “‘Final answer: Yes I will do it’ when asked about if he’s selected to represent Team USA at the MXdN.”
The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider hasn’t competed at the MXoN since 2014 in Latvia where he raced in the Open class. A crash in the first turn of his second moto made things difficult, to say the least, but it gave fans a very memorable moto.
Showing he wasn’t done for the day, Tomac rode an inspired race ā aggressive and flowing ā to chase down the front runners to get himself into third place. It could have been more but just as he started to have thoughts about catching Belgium’s Jeremy van Horebeek, the bike stalled. It left Tomac out of time but he sealed third place.

Eli has missed the last three Motocross des Nations ā 2015 (ErnĆ©e, France), 2016 (Maggiora, Italy) and 2017 (Matterley Basin, UK), while Team USA has not lifted the Chamberlain Trophy since 2011 where Ryan Dungey, Blake Baggett and Ryan Villopoto successfully defended a six-year winning streak for the USA at Saint-Jean-d’AngĆ©ly, France.
Tomac now needs to stay healthy so the world can see him battle the World’s best on October 7 at Red Bud, USA.
