BSEC goes back to Canada Heights and mixes new venues with familiar favourites in an all two-day series running from March to October…

GMC Events, organiser of the ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship, are pleased to announce finalised venue information for the 2014 series, which starts on March 22/23. Exclusively featuring six two-day meetings, the 12-round championship will finish in early October. Along the way it will stop off at Saint’s Well in Mid Wales, Chavenage Farm, Gloucestershire, which hosted a hugely successful opening round of the 2013 championship, head to Black Dog Woods in Wiltshire, Westwood near Sheffield, and conclude on the beach at Ingoldmells, near Skegness.

Following on from the successful 2013 BSEC series, for 2014 the championship grows by one event, bringing the total number of rounds to 12 (six two-day events). Starting at Canada Heights the series will begin at one of the all-time best-liked BSEC venues. Offering a diverse mix of terrain the sandy, all-weather, nature of the venue makes it the perfect place for the season opener.

Next up the series heads to Mid Wales and the Saint’s Well venue in April. Used many times in several different ways by the BSEC series, the farmland-based circuit will offer a notably different event to rounds one and two. The championship’s third stop is Chavenage Farm – host of the 2013 series opener. Another well-liked venue, a return to Chavenage Farm in May will see competitors faced with a flowing part woodland, part farmland course.

June sees the BSEC head to Westwood near Sheffield. Introduced to the series last year, having proved popular and delivered great racing the woodland course is back for 2014, with a revised track layout used over the two days of competition. Black Dog Woods in Wiltshire then hosts the penultimate round of the championship in July. A woodland course much like Westwood, Black Dog Woods is followed by a 10-week break before the final two rounds in early October.

Heading to the East Coast Off Road Facility at Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire the series will draw to a close with the first ever BSEC beach sprint – a 10-minute long beach special tests that will maximise the available natural terrain as well as including numerous man-made jumps, bermed corners, whoops, and more…

For 2014 the BSEC series will again feature nine classes: Elite, Under 23, Under 19, 125cc Youth Cup, Expert, Expert Vets, Clubman, Clubman Vets, and Woman’s classes.

Entries for the 2014 ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship open February 1.

Jonty Edmunds – GMC Events: “We believe we’ve got a great line-up of venues for 2014. We’re thrilled to be not only going back to Canada Heights but also to be starting the series there. The 2012 final held there was a great event, and gives us a fantastic location and course to start the 2014 series. Saint’s Well, Westwood and Chavenage Farm are all great venues that the series has used before. Mixing them with the exciting new venues ensures there’s something to suite all riders. The beach sprint that will bring the series to a close will be very different from everything we’ve done before, but we have big plans to ensure a highly enjoyable and memorable final two rounds.

“We’re returning to all two-day events simply because that’s what riders have requested. However, for 2014 competitors in all classes, not just the Clubman class, will be able to compete on a one-day basis, be it Saturday or Sunday. We’re expecting championship regulars to compete on a two-day basis, but anyone interested in racing one day, maybe because they’re trying the series for the first time, can now do so.”
