We reported earlier today that Whatley left Round 3 of the 2017 Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship in an ambulance. Whatley has now confirmed his injury on social media.

It all started so well for Whatley, who took fourth place in Qualifying and was running around fifth place in the opening MX1 moto when he went off the track, hitting the fencing and coming to a sudden halt. The nasty crash led to a Red Flag but the race results stood.

The injury prognosis isn’t good with the Apico Husqvarna Racing rider confirming he has a broken femur, which is devastating news for Kristian and his team.

We wish Kristian a full and speedy recovery.
