The first British Motocross Championship Festival has been confirmed to Dirt Bike Rider.

RHL Activities will run a British Motocross Championship Festival over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend at Culham Park MX, Oxfordshire.

The three-day festival, which will run from March 30 to April 1, will take in the opening round of the Judd Racing British Youth NationalsĀ and round two of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship supported by Pro Clean.

The man behind the innovative programme is Gareth Hockey, Director of BYN promoter RHL Activities. “For me, this is something I have wanted to do with RHL for a number of years. Ever since we ran the Handlebar Festival in 2009 which saw the likes of Jeffrey Herlings competing,” he said.

“With the support of the ACU, we are looking forward to the very first British Motocross Championship Festival.

“The team and I are already busy working away on plans for the event. We’ve started conversations with manufacturers and the industry. I can definitely say it will be an event no-one will want to miss.”

It’s the first time the two series have been combined at the same circuit. And while the racing will obviously take centre stage, there will be virtually non-stop entertainment across the weekend with a kids’ zone offering try-outs on quads and pushbikes. And in addition, thereĀ will be demonstrations with off-road activities and much more.

With RHL’s vast experience in running major events, including the very popular HydroGarden Weston Beach Race, the company is preparing a very special weekend in collaboration with the ACU.

RHL Activities planning for the future of motocross

Hockey is passionate about expanding the sport by attracting new blood into motocross. So RHL is currently running a number of initiatives with schools which highlight the job opportunities within the industry. This also provides access to key people within RHL.

“With RHL Activities’ expertise in organising events and the support from those competing in the championships,” added Hockey, “we can hopefully turn this one-of-a-kind weekend into an annual occasion.”

Further news about the British Motocross Championship Festival will be made soon. For more information go to RHL Activities.
