A wealth of talented extreme enduro riders headed for round four of the British Extreme Championship last weekend for the Extreme Ravines at Helmsley, North Yorkshire. John Kerwin and his DirtbikeAction team had created a 30km lap with 10 checkpoints to face the competitors.
The Pro, Expert And Elite Vets had to do two laps, while the other classes had to navigate just the one lap. Using the ice age ravines high above Helmsley the course was bone dry after weeks of dry weather, with bright sunshine and clear blue skies on the
Over the next couple of hours riders battle it out on the dust course. Factory KTMās Jonny Wallker was lightning fast but could only claw his way to finish fourth as Jono Richardson continued his recent good from with overall third.
Eurotek KTMās Travis Teesdale claimed an win and an excellent result for new Eurotek KTM rider Will Hoare taking second. Paul Bolton retired with an injured knee on the first lap. Jack Spencer won Experts after a close battle with Chris Windle and Dave Wood.
Wayne Braybrook was pased by Harold Crawford on lap two but didnāt see him in the ensuing carnage of lower ranked riders struggling on the epic climb. Content he was in the lead, he cruised home only to find Harold sat at the finish.
The Elite Vets class checkpoints 6,7 & 8 caused most problems for the lower classes with riders taking up to 30 mins on each to get to the checkpoints with the last Sportsman Vet crossing the line after 4hrs 31 min of struggle.
