SR75 has added another French hotshot to its Arenacross team for 2019 in the form of 28-year-old Valentin Teillet who hails from La Roche sur Yon in France.

Teillet has been showing great form recently, taking second and third place finishes at the ADAC Supercross final round at Dortmund in Germany. He took an overall championship position of fifth behind hard-charging AX stars Charles Lefrançois, Cole Martinez, and Nick Thury, whilst leaving AX reigning champ Cedric Soubeyras, new-to-AX Greg Aranda and AX vet Florent Richier in his wake. He was also crowned vice King of Dortmund.

Prior to the ADAC championship, Teillet finished third in the hugely-competitive French SX Tour behind non-other than SX big-hitters Soubeyras and Aranda. Rolling back a few years to 2014, and Teillet left the world of MXGP MX2 behind to embark on a career in America. With his Bud Racing team, he was one of a few Europeans to tackle the 250 West AMA SX and that experience clearly stood him in good stead for when he returned to tackle the various European SX championships.

Looking forward to the upcoming Arenacross season, ASL CEO Matt Bates said; “I’m proud to be able to say that this year’s class changes will be backed up by the strongest indoor line-up ever to be witnessed in the UK. Securing another French Supercross champion in Valentin Teillet with SR75 Suzuki underlines that, outside of the US, our indoor series is truly the most competitive in the world. It’s not a secret that I’m a motocross fan through and through, and so to see the likes of French talent such as Cedric Soubeyras, Greg Aranda and now Teillet race against brand new-to-the series and US Supercross stars Cole Martinez, Nick Schmidt and Austin Root, it’s clear that the AX Tour has definitely stepped up to yet another level. I can’t wait to see the combined 250 and 450 Super Final Main Event each weekend at Belfast, Birmingham and Sheffield.”

SR75 team boss Geoff Walker who has endured something of a tough run recently added: “It has been tough with our Supercross programme through the latter part of 2018 and it is great to finalise our line-up going into the epic Arenacross UK tour.

“With injuries taking their toll in our preparation it is amazing to have signed Charles Lefrançois as an SR75 Suzuki global athlete for 2019. Charles has been on our radar for years and we are stoked to have finally signed this ‘silent assassin’ to the team. Charles is going from strength to strength and we have been working with him for a couple of months now. He brings great qualities to the team and with his ability, skill, personality and determination. Coming off an incredible Vice Champion performance at the tough ADAC Supercross Championship in Germany we cannot wait to get #CLF3 into the mix at AXUK. Charles will be a great representative for the team, for Suzuki GB and all our valuable team partners.

“Our latest signing brings another incredible rider to the SR75 family and we are over the moon to have Valentin Teillet join us to ride the AXUK Tour 250 Pro class. Valentin is a class act and a fantastic talent, and we can’t wait to see this guy’s skill level on the AXUK tracks. Valentin is a fearless competitor and he will bring absolute class to the show. This is a brilliant signing for us and Suzuki GB and everyone in the team is excited to go racing. We believe our guys are a perfect fit for SR75 Suzuki and ‘going home’ to Belfast will be a fantastic way to launch our new era as a team and for the fans to come along and experience the top-level skill on show from the top-level racers, the young racers and the freestylers at AXUK. Thanks to everyone involved in what we do and thanks to ASL for giving us the epic Arenacross!”
