Kawasaki unveil new MX Championship for 2009

Kawasaki Motors UK has announced a new one make Championship for the 2009 motocross season offering competitive racing as well as an amazing prize pool including a 2010 Kawasaki KX250F for the overall winner.

Run as part of the popular AMCA Masters series, the seven round Kawasaki Masters Championship is open to a wide range of amateur riders and kicks off in mid March at Culham in Oxfordshire.

With the recent unveiling of Kawasaki’s Team Green riders and supported teams for the coming season, this announcement also underpins the company’s commitment to the grass roots of the sport.

“There is no better way to demonstrate the competitiveness and durability of Kawasaki machinery than to run something like the Kawasaki Masters Championship”, commented Branch Manager of Kawasaki Motors UK, Howard Dale. “This gives us a great chance to give something back to the sport at an amateur level while riders enjoy a close fought Championship with the very real prospect of winning a 2010 KX250F as the grand prize”.

On behalf of the AMCA, Development Officer, Ken Winstanley, shared Kawasaki’s enthusiasm. “We are sure this new Championship will add further to the interest in the AMCA Masters series. It will generate exciting racing for both track-side spectators and those watching the action via the two television channels broadcasting each of the rounds”.
