The organisers of the Irish Motocross Grand Prix at the superb new facility at Fairyhouse Racecourse in North Dublin on the 30th and 31st August have just confirmed they have received an entry from Grand Prix winning motocross star Gordon Crockard.

Gordon will be riding the PAR Honda 450F in the prestigious MX1 Class currently led by Italian David Phillippaerts on the Monster Energy Yamaha on 405 points, from current world champion Steve Ramon on the Teka Factory Suzuki on 398, Philippaerts' team-mate, Kiwi Josh Coppins, also an ex team-mate of Crockard is third on 370.

Out of Grand Prix racing since injuring himself at the famous Namur circuit last August, Gordon has been racing successfully in the USA in the GNCC series where he lies twelfth at the moment but that series is on a summer break, giving Crockard the opportunity to return to his first love.

After a second place at the Maxxis British Championship at Brampton last Sunday, Gordon is enjoying his racing at home and is fit and healthy for his home Grand Prix.

With local interest also in the MX2 class where Northern Irish owned team, KTM UK are running Shaun Simpson, currently fourth in the xhampionship 44 points behind the injured world champion Antonio Cairoli, this should be an exciting event for the public to see over a spectacular newly built circuit with excellent spectator viewing and facilities.

The event is also going out on live TV across Europe, with 70 million viewers looking in.

The Cookstown Club have also confirmed Crockards entry for the last round of the In Touch MRA Ulster Open Championship at Desertmartin on Saturday 23rd August, a last competitive outing for him, and the four local ‘wild card’ riders who will also be in action, Wayne Garrett, Graeme Irwin, Stuart Edmonds, and Ross Brown, who go to Dublin seeking qualification at least.
